A Message of Hope from Pastor

"The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water:

He turneth it [wherever] He will.”  (Proverbs 21:1 - KJV)

In the Gospel according to Mark: Jesus, the disciples, and those who followed, found themselves in the middle of a fierce windstorm. This windstorm was so intense, that waves began to break over the boat to the point where it began to fill with water. (1)

It is no doubt that this COVID-19 (Corona Virus) pandemic has hit the world with fierce windstorm intensity. Consequently, anxiety and fear has begun to break into people’s hearts. In times such as these, it’s easy to forget (as the disciples did) that Jesus was with them and is  currently with us. It is also imperative that we don’t forget Jesus’ position during this storm: “asleep [with His head] on the [sailor’s leather] cushion.” (2) The disciples became fearful because they thought that Jesus no longer cared about their well-being. As we know, not only did Jesus care about their well-being, He even carried them safely through the storm. We can use this situation to strengthen our faith in the Lord, knowing that He will carry us through the storm. Though it may be tough right now, we must not allow the waves to rob us of our faith: God is still in control! Don’t become too relaxed in this world, instead, relax in God’s ability to see us through. Trust the hand of the God that man is in.

In Christ,

Pastor

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God [set aside self-righteous pride], so that He may exalt you [to a place of honor in His service] at the appropriate time, casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].” 1 Peter 5: 6-7 - AMP
