History
We are a non-denominational church who believes that the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God. Ordained in 1993, A Word of Light Ministries was born in 1994. Our first church service was launched in 1996 and we have been going strong ever since. We began holding worship services in hotels, from there, we moved to 2601 Gravier St. As with most New Orleanians, Hurricane Katrina forced us to evacuate the city. Similarly, like most New Orleanians, we returned to the city in which we were called to do ministry. Upon our return, we began meeting in a hotel once again. God soon opened a door for us to move to our current location at 7506 Garfield St.
