Whether you are looking for a new church home, new to the New Orleans area or new to Christianity in general, we would love to extend a cordial invitation to you and your family. A Word of Light Ministries is family oriented church and we would love for you to experience the creative word of faith which produces results. There’s a peacefulness and joyfulness that resides in God’s house. You can come to be challenged, nurtured and loved. No one can experience the move of God in this place and leave out the same way they came in. Upon connecting with A Word of Light Ministries, you will experience a change that only Jesus Christ can bring. We have bible based teachings and we as a church will embrace you as family into the body of Christ! We have a desire to see people’s lives changed through the Word of God. We have been entrusted with the mandate to spread the gospel and we don’t take that mandate likely. The Word of God has the power to overcome any situation that people may find themselves in, and that is the hope that we bring to all those who will listen.
What We Believe
We believe that all scripture is inspired by God and has the final authority (2 Timothy 3:16).
We believe that there is only one true and living God (Deuteronomy 4:35).
We believe in the Triune nature of God: Father, Son, Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:26 | Deuteronomy 4:35 | Mathew 3:13-17 Mathew 28:19 | John 10:30 | John 14:16-17 | John 14:26).
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully Man and that He is the Son of the true and living God (John 1: 1-18 | John 3:16 | John 10:30).
We believe that salvation is available because of the grace of God alone; there is nothing that man has done/did/or will do to earn this gift of salvation (Ephesians 2: 1-10).
We believe that salvation is only possible through Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ alone through His death, burial, and resurrection (John 3:16 | John 14: 6 | 1 Corinthians 15: 1-58).
We believe in water baptism and the indwelling of Holy Spirit (Mathew 28: 18-20 | Acts 1: 4-8 | Acts 2: 37-38 Acts 8: 35-38).
We believe in the observance of the Lord’s Supper and the fellowship with fellow believers (1 Corinthians 11: 23-25 | Hebrews 10:25).
